Chigovoca (the "App") helps you learn foreign-language vocabulary by extracting words from text in photos using spaced repetition. This policy explains what information is processed while you use the App.
The App does not require sign-up or login. We do not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
Photos you take or select from your gallery are sent to the Google Gemini API for word extraction, routed through a server we operate (a Cloudflare Workers–based proxy).
Extracted words, study (review) history, favorites, streaks, and notification/timer settings are stored only on your device and are never sent to an external server. Deleting the App also deletes this data.
| Service | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Google Gemini API | Extracting words from text in photos | Images and OCR text are transmitted |
| RevenueCat | Processing and validating Premium subscription purchases | Purchase history and subscription status are processed (payment details themselves are handled by Google Play) |
| AppLovin MAX | Showing rewarded ads to free-tier users | Device information such as advertising identifiers may be collected by AppLovin and its connected ad networks |
| Cloudflare Workers | API relay server infrastructure | Request IP addresses are processed temporarily |
Each service's data handling is governed by that company's own privacy policy. (Google: policies.google.com/privacy, RevenueCat: revenuecat.com/privacy, AppLovin: applovin.com/privacy)
We do not request broad access to device storage.
The App is not primarily directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
All study data is stored only locally on your device, so deleting the App also deletes that data. Since no photos or study data are retained on our servers, no separate deletion request process is necessary.
This policy may be revised due to changes in law or our services. Any changes will be posted on this page.
